Basketball Recap: Scott's Branch Comes Up Short

Scott's Branch's last matchup with Lakewood could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Scott's Branch Eagles were dealt a 67-30 defeat at the hands of the Lakewood Gators. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Scott's Branch still got an impressive performance from Randy Williams, who posted eight points.

Darius Franklin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lakewood, as he made all 6 shots he took for 15 points along with eight boards and five blocks. Franklin is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamaal Baxter, who had ten points and four steals.

Scott's Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lakewood, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Scott's Branch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-40 loss against East Clarendon on the 10th. As for Lakewood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-56 defeat against Sumter on the 3rd.
