Basketball Recap: Norris Skates Past Standing Bear with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Norris over Standing Bear in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Norris Titans blew the Standing Bear Grizzlies out of the water with a 57-18 final score. The game marked the Titans' most dominant win of the season so far.

Leading Norris to victory were Ray Wegner and Roselynn Madsen. Wegner dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Madsen went 6 of 8 on her way to 14 points along with eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Madsen a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlee Emerson, who posted ten points.

Norris smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Norris' victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Standing Bear, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norris won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Gretna East at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Gretna East will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Norris surely won't give up without a fight. As for Standing Bear, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Elkhorn North at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Standing Bear is facing Elkhorn North at the right time seeing as Elkhorn North is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
