Baseball Recap: Brooke Has No Trouble Against Beaver Local

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Indian Creek, Brooke was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Beaver Local Beavers as they made off with a 16-3 win. Considering the Bruins' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Andrew Murdock made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Murdock was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Garrett Moore was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Brooke is undefeated when Moore posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Henry Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Brooke always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaver Local only posted an OBP of .238.

Brooke's record is now 8-4. As for Beaver Local, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brooke beat the Beavers by a score of 15-5 on Friday.
