Baseball Game Preview: West Hills Wolf Pack vs. Morse Tigers

The West Hills Wolf Pack will take on the Morse Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Morse took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on West Hills, who comes in off a win.

West Hills took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Francis Parker 16-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolf Pack considering their one-run performance the match before.

Kaiden Chambers made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Chambers was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Joey Monetti was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Carson-Kai Lewis was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

West Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Morse came up short against Otay Ranch on Wednesday, falling 9-2.

Morse saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Westover, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Morse's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for West Hills, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Everything went West Hills' way against Morse in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as West Hills made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Hills since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
