Baseball Game Preview: Harvard Hornets vs. Fenton Bison

The Harvard Hornets are taking a road trip to challenge the Fenton Bison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Harvard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Harvard will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against St. Edward on Thursday. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Green Wave. The matchup marked the Hornets' most dominant win of the season so far.

Eltan Powles made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Harvard got a massive performance out of Landon Crone, who scored four runs while going 3-for-5. Crone has become a key player for the Hornets: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Logan Nulle, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Harvard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .528. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Fenton came up short against Addison Trail on Thursday and fell 8-4.

Fenton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Harvard, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
