Soccer Recap: Tough Loss for Basic

Basic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons, falling 5-0. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Basic struggled afterwards.

Basic has now lost 11 of their last 12 games at home. That's part of the reason why they have a 1-18-1 record this season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 2-1-1 Del Sol (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 78% over those games). Wins have been accumulating steadily for Doral Academy Red Rock, who have claimed victory in 14 of their first 16 games to sit at 14-1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Basic is set to face off against their familiar foe Del Sol at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Doral Academy Red Rock will square off against their in-conference opponent Foothill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
