Baseball Recap: Crimson Cliffs Takes Down Orem in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Crimson Cliffs had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Orem Tigers 11-3.

Tyler Ransom made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on CUTTER CHRISTENSEN, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Crimson Cliffs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was AUSTIN SMITH, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles.
