Baseball Recap: Trinity Has No Trouble Against Varsity Opponent

Trinity came out on top against Varsity Opponent on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Raiders blew past Varsity Opponent 16-6. Considering the Raiders have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Isaac Hernandez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Trinity: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Keaton Abbott, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Trinity was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Trinity now has a winning record of 12-11.

Looking ahead, Trinity will challenge Hopkins County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Storm have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
