Basketball Game Preview: Habersham Central Raiders vs. Clarke Central Gladiators

The Habersham Central Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Clarke Central Gladiators at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Habersham Central has four straight wins, Clarke Central has 16 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Habersham Central humbled Apalachee with an 83-54 victory. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Clarke Central opened the new year with a less-than-successful 69-59 defeat to Apalachee. While losing is never fun, the Gladiators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 456th, while the Wildcats are ranked 179th).

Clarke Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Habersham Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.
