Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Sparkman's 12th in Last 16 Outings

Sparkman got themselves on the board against Rogers on Saturday, but Rogers never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pirates, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Senators have posted since March 21st.

Eden Parker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Sparkman is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Rogers, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Sparkman will challenge Meade County at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Senators 4.1, the Green Waves 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Rogers, they will take on Hatton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
