Baseball Recap: Umatilla Vikings vs. McLoughlin Pioneers
Umatilla lost a close one when they played in Tuesday's first game but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed in Tuesday's second game was a bit more commanding. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 19-4 walloping at the hands of the McLoughlin Pioneers. Umatilla has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Umatilla saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Valdez III, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Umatilla's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for McLoughlin, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Umatilla will head out on the road to face off against Nyssa at 1:00 p.m. in Saturday's first game. As for McLoughlin, they will square off against Weston-McEwen/Griswold at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
