Football Recap: Merino Comes Up Short

Merino lost against Mancos back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rams were outmatched by the Bluejays and fell 50-8. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jonah H Ritter had a dynamite game For Mancos., rushing for 222 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. H Ritter was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Resner, who rushed for 63 yards and one score.

Merino now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mancos, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Merino will take on Lyons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. After each having a week off, Mancos and Dolores will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The contest will give the Bluejays their first taste of in-conference action this season.
