Basketball Recap: Palm Bay Piles Up the Points Against Cocoa + How To Watch

Palm Bay won the last time they faced Cocoa and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pirates blew past the Tigers 73-45. The contest marked the Pirates' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Palm Bay was led to victory by Omar Clarke and Malik Brown. Clarke went 7-for-12 to rack up 19 points and three steals, while Brown shot 67% from the field en route to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Clarke now owns an excellent 46.2% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was O'Ryan Woolestan, who posted eight points and five steals.

Palm Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Palm Bay pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Cocoa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Palm Bay will challenge Rockledge at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates' defense better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 56.6 points per game this season.
