Baseball Game Preview: Spring Valley Grizzlies vs. Green Valley Gators

For the second straight game, Spring Valley will face off against Green Valley. The Grizzlies will take on the Gators at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Spring Valley has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 19.

Spring Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Green Valley, who was ranked 18th at the time (Spring Valley was ranked 24th). The Grizzlies took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Grizzlies have lost by exactly three runs.

For Green Valley's part, Jeremiah Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. Smith has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jet McNelis was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Ferry, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Green Valley's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Spring Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13-2.
