Baseball Game Preview: Hudson Catholic Hawks vs. Pope John XXIII

The Hudson Catholic Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against Pope John XXIII at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hudson Catholic has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hudson Catholic came up short against North Bergen on Thursday, falling 13-6. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jace Caddle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and three RBI. Cody Cutler also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Pope John XXIII's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph Regional on Tuesday. Pope John XXIII fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against St. Joseph Regional since on Tuesday.

Pope John XXIII saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Pami, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Hudson Catholic's record now sits at 2-17. As for Pope John XXIII, their record is now 6-6.
