Volleyball Recap: Summit Academy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Summit Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Draper APA Eagles on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

Summit Academy took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-6, 25-14.

Draper APA was led to victory by Paisley Le and Evie Martinez. Le had six digs and five aces, while Martinez had seven digs and one assist. That's the most digs Martinez has posted since back in September of 2024.

Looking ahead, Summit Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Juab at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Draper APA, they will challenge West at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
