Volleyball Recap: Cocoa Falls to Melbourne in First Game of Season

Cocoa unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Melbourne Bulldogs on Monday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

While Cocoa ultimately came up short, they really made Melbourne work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-10, 26-6.

Among those leading the charge was Kinsey Hurd, who had six aces and five digs. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Cocoa will welcome Rockledge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Melbourne, they will head out on the road to take on Space Coast at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
