Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Smith-Cotton). They breezed by the Marshall Owls to the tune of 94-47 on Monday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 57-49 win the Owls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Marshall lost, don't look at Deacon Arends. Despite the final result, he posted ten points and three steals. Arends has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played.

Smith-Cotton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith-Cotton will venture away from home to challenge Versailles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marshall will take on Moberly in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
