Silas is 0-4 against Timberline since March of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Silas Rams will face off against the Timberline Blazers at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
While Rams fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Wednesday's season opener. Everything went their way against Curtis on Wednesday as Silas made off with a 25-15 win.
Natalie Medalia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Medalia was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ary'Anna Payne, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Nevaeh Rodriguez was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Silas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Curtis only managed eight hits.
Meanwhile, Timberline made easy work of Lakes on Friday and carried off a 19-1 victory. The Blazers haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Like Silas, Timberline also got a great game from a two-way player: Nevaeh Haagen. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Haagen was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kayleese Dorfner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Porsha Miller, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Silas suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Timberline when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can Silas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
