Basketball Recap: Tri County Area Takes a Loss

Tri County Area lost against Newaygo back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tri County Area Vikings took a blow against the Newaygo Lions, falling 57-24. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 535th, while the Lions are ranked 86th).

Tri County Area has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Newaygo, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri County Area will square off against Kent City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newaygo, they will face off against Holton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
