Basketball Recap: Freeport Takes a Loss

Freeport lost against Walton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Freeport Bulldogs opened the new year with a less-than-successful 70-57 defeat to the Walton Braves.

Despite the loss, Freeport still got an impressive performance from Julius Miles, who posted 26 points and six rebounds. Miles is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Perkins, who put up nine points.

Freeport's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Walton, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Freeport didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-50 victory against Altha on the 7th. As for Walton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 43-35 defeat against Bay on the 7th.
