Softball Game Preview: Wyomissing Spartans vs. Susquehannock Warriors

The Wyomissing Spartans will face off against the Susquehannock Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Wyomissing narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Pottsgrove 7-6.

Kylie Schoedler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Addison Lecher was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie George, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Susquehannock, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Dover on Friday.

Susquehannock also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ella Wetzel gave up only one earned run on two hits and racked up 18 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kara Paternini, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Macie Minton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
