Baseball Recap: Centaurus Comes Up Short

Centaurus had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 6-10 to make it four. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broomfield Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 13-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Centaurus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Sehnert, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Broomfield, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

On Broomfield's side, Brody Reidle looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Reidle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bryce Jackson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Owen Lee also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Centaurus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-1 victory against Longmont on the 21st. As for Broomfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-0 win against Frederick on the 21st.
