Soccer Game Preview: Archbishop McCarthy vs. Pine Crest

The Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks will challenge the Pine Crest Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Archbishop McCarthy's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Coral Springs Charter 1-0. Archbishop McCarthy wouldn't have won without Maya Andrulonis, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Pine Crest was forced to settle for a draw. They and North Broward Prep finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

Archbishop McCarthy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. Pine Crest's draw makes their record 1-0-1 this season.

Archbishop McCarthy came out on top in a nail-biter against Pine Crest in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
