Baseball Game Preview: Greeneview Rams vs. Northeastern Jets

The Greeneview Rams will face off against the Northeastern Jets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Greeneview will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Greeneview proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 19) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Mechanicsburg 4-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 20, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Greeneview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Penrod, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Greeneview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Northeastern earned a 6-1 win over Madison Plains on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Jets in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Northeastern pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Greeneview, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Greeneview was able to grind out a solid victory over Northeastern in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
