Volleyball Recap: Gary West Side Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Gary West Side had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Hammond Morton Governors on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 15 in a row.

Gary West Side was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Hammond Morton work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-13, 26-24.

Hammond Morton's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gary West Side will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Wheeler at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hammond Morton, they will welcome Hebron at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
