Humphrey-Lindsay won the last time they faced Tekamah-Herman, and Owen Kurtenbach did his part to make sure it happened again. The Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs walked away with a 69-56 victory over the Tekamah-Herman Tigers on Friday thanks in part to Kurtenbach, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. The match was his seventh in a row with at least 19 points.

Cole Preister was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six assists and six steals. Humphrey-Lindsay is undefeated when Preister posts five or more steals, but 8-10 otherwise.

Despite the defeat, Tekamah-Herman saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brody Haag made all 5 shots he took to post 14 points. The dominant performance gave Haag a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Griffin Breckenridge, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points.

Humphrey-Lindsay now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Tekamah-Herman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
