Volleyball Recap: Dulce Cardona and Alyssa Almanzar Secure Win for Socorro

Socorro won the last time they faced Horizon and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Scorpions by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Socorro was led to victory by Alyssa Almanzar and Dulce Cardona. Almanzar had 20 digs, while Cardona had 12 digs. Almanzar has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last five times she's played. Nadia Lopez also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Socorro's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Horizon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Socorro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Lubbock on the 30th. As for Horizon, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Perryton on the 30th.
