Recap: Central Texas Christian Lions vs. Live Oak Classical Falcons
After soaring to 56 points the game before, the Central Texas Christian Lions were a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Live Oak Classical, falling 73-20. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central Texas Christian in their matchups with Live Oak Classical: they've now lost six in a row.
Leading Live Oak Classical to victory were Levi Taylor and Tristan Wilson. Taylor scored 19 points, while Wilson scored 17 points along with four steals. Wilson hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Jayden Ogden, who scored six points along with nine assists and three steals.
Central Texas Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Live Oak Classical, they pushed their record up to 23-3 with that win, which was their 23rd straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Texas Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Reicher Catholic at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Reicher Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central Texas Christian in Texas (Reicher Catholic is ranked 600th, while Central Texas Christian is ranked 1546th). As for Live Oak Classical, they will head out on the road to face off against Faith Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Faith Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
