Baseball Game Preview: Dudley Panthers vs. Bishop McGuinness Villains

The Dudley Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Bishop McGuinness Villains at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Dudley's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

Dudley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 22-2 margin over High Point Central on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Jamarr Parker made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Parker was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Dudley got a massive performance out of Jayven Baize, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Donovan Locklear, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Dudley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .722. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .596 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Bishop McGuinness suffered their biggest defeat since March 20, 2024 on Friday. They lost 13-1 to Thomasville.

The win got Dudley back to even at 2-2. As for Bishop McGuinness, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Dudley might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Bishop McGuinness in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Dudley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
