Softball Game Preview: Verbena Red Devils vs. Billingsley Bears

The Verbena Red Devils will head out on the road to take on the Billingsley Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Verbena will be strutting in after a win while Billingsley will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Verbena got the win against Hillcrest by a conclusive 16-2.

Meanwhile, Billingsley came up short against Maplesville on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Billingsley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jakayla Harris, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Billingsley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Verbena, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Verbena couldn't quite get it done against Billingsley in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 8-3. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
