Luverne is a perfect 3-0 against Blue Earth since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cardinals will face off against the Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Luverne and seven for Blue Earth.

Luverne lost 16-6 to Pipestone on Monday.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Blue Earth's offense. They came up short against Fairmont on Tuesday, falling 10-0.

Blue Earth saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Grant, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Sara Wirth also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Blue Earth's loss dropped their record down to 0-16-1. As for Luverne, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Everything went Luverne's way against Blue Earth in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Luverne made off with a 17-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
