Logansport took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Pioneer Panthers. The Berries have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Gracie Risley and Natalee Packard made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Risley tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Packard struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits (and not a single walk). At the plate, Risley scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Packard scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Packard has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Bella Nicoles was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. Kate Spradling was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Logansport hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pioneer struck out ten times.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Logansport will host Twin Lakes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pioneer, they will head out to challenge Rochester at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
