Recap: Holy Cross Knights vs. Christ the King Royals
The Holy Cross Knights lost against the Christ the King Royals back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Holy Cross took a 62-46 bruising from Christ the King. Holy Cross has struggled against Christ the King recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Holy Cross lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Avery Taitt-Christina, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Jahzir Crawford was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Holy Cross has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Christ the King, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross on the road again on Wednesday and play against Mt. St. Michael Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Christ the King, they will challenge East Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (East Catholic is ranked fourth in Connecticut, while Christ the King is ranked first in New York).
