Football Recap: Atlantic Sharks vs. Matanzas Pirates
Atlantic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 28-0 loss at the hands of the Matanzas Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sharks of the 35-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Caden Burchfield went supernova for Matanzas, rushing for 129 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 149 yards and two touchdowns.
Atlantic's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Matanzas, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
Atlantic will head out on the road to take on Father Lopez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Atlantic is facing Father Lopez at the right time seeing as Father Lopez is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Matanzas, they will host Deltona at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
