Softball Game Preview: Corry Beavers vs. Conneaut Area Eagles

The Corry Beavers will challenge the Conneaut Area Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Conneaut Area took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Corry, who comes in off a win.

Corry's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Cathedral Prep. Considering the Beavers have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Conneaut Area came up short against Northwestern on Monday, falling 19-3.

Conneaut Area saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carmen Bowman, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double. That double was Bowman's first of the season. Another was Hailey Gilliland, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Corry and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Conneaut Area, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Corry got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Conneaut Area by a conclusive 20-5 score. Do the Beavers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
