Baseball Recap: Oasis Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gateway Charter last Monday, Oasis came back down to earth. The Sharks came up short against the Aubrey Rogers Patriots on Thursday, falling 11-1. The Sharks have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Brayden Cody was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Oasis' defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Aubrey Rogers, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oasis will take on Imagine School at North Port at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Aubrey Rogers, they will challenge IMG Academy Navy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 3.2, the Ascenders 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
