Soccer Game Preview: Poquoson vs. Grafton

Poquoson is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Grafton Clippers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Poquoson gave up the first goal last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Arcadia. Poquoson's winning goal came courtesy of Ryzen Rocha.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grafton). They never let Arcadia get on the board and left with a 7-0 win last Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grafton.

The victory got Grafton back to even at 2-2-1. As for Poquoson, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Poquoson came up short against Grafton when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Islanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
