Baseball Recap: Hudson Takes a Loss

Hudson extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping them down to 8-11. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Central Eagles. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for North Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For North Central's part, Easton Fidler made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fidler was also solid in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Fidler wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Briggs Fiser, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudson will host Blissfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.5 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Central, they will welcome Hilltop at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
