Baseball Recap: Pine-Richland Find Success

Pine-Richland never let their opponents score on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils. The Rams were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Blue Devils, so the Rams were just returning the favor.

Noah Mackie tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Sam Heckert and Anthony Annichine did most of the damage at the plate: Heckert went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Annichine scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Annichine has posted since back in April of 2024.

Pine-Richland's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Mt. Lebanon, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Pine-Richland will welcome Taylor Allderdice at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Lebanon, they are taking a road trip to take on Hempfield Area at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Blue Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season.
