The Vanguard Academy Knights will head out to face off against the Freedom Prep Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vanguard Academy has given up an average of 58.5 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Vanguard Academy came up short against Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams and fell 58-48. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Vanguard Academy got top-tier performance from Jaxon Kingston, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds. The game was Kingston's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Corey Hansen, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freedom Prep Academy). They really took it to Mount Vernon for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-34 victory. The Eagles not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since December 5, 2024 (when they won 61-27).

Vanguard Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Freedom Prep Academy, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7.

Vanguard Academy beat Freedom Prep Academy 68-60 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
