Softball Game Preview: Boyertown Bears vs. Spring-Ford Rams

Boyertown is 1-9 against Spring-Ford since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bears will head out to square off against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. The last three games Boyertown has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Boyertown fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Wilson on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6.

Boyertown saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyra Neiswender, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that Neiswender snagged this season. Another was Hailey Schildt, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Spring-Ford ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Upper Perkiomen 8-7. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won five contests in a row.

Spring-Ford's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Boyertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Boyertown couldn't quite get it done against Spring-Ford in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
