Soccer Game Preview: Kapolei vs. Mililani

The Kapolei Hurricanes will venture away from home to face off against the Mililani Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are still undefeated (Kapolei has five wins , while Mililani has nine dating back to last season).

Kapolei is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Hawaii's top teams: Radford, who was ranked 19th at the time (Kapolei was ranked eighth). Kapolei never let Radford onto the board and left with a 3-0 win on Friday. Give the Hurricanes' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Mililani won against Radford on Monday with six goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. Mililani put the hurt on 'Aiea with a sharp 6-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight games by three goals or more so far this season.

Kapolei pushed their record up to 7-0-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matches. As for Mililani, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Kapolei suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Mililani in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Kapolei avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
