Football Recap: Waynesfield-Goshen Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hardin Northern last Friday, Waynesfield-Goshen came back down to earth. Waynesfield-Goshen was dealt a 45-13 defeat at the hands of North Baltimore on Friday. The game marked Waynesfield-Goshen's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

North Baltimore's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Long led the charge by throwing for 251 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes, while also rushing for 102 yards on only 13 carries. Long's longest rush was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Brody Walter was another key back, rushing for 176 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.4 yards per carry.

Waynesfield-Goshen now has a losing record of 2-3. As for North Baltimore, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Waynesfield-Goshen is set to square off against their familiar foe Cory-Rawson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North Baltimore will take on rival Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 12.4, the Commodores 11.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
