Softball Recap: Slocum Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Slocum's offense. They fell just short of the Lovelady Lions by a score of 2-0 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since February 29, 2024.

Slocum's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lovelady, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

The future could be bright for both Slocum and Lovelady: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Slocum will try to hand Centerville their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Lovelady will look to extend Leon's eight-game losing streak when they meet at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
