Softball Preview: Santa Rosa Panthers vs. Petaluma Trojans
The Santa Rosa Panthers will challenge the Petaluma Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Santa Rosa fell victim to Archie Williams and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 19-0 to the Peregrine Falcons. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, while Petaluma put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Analy. Everything went Petaluma's way against Analy as Petaluma made off with a 16-0 victory. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Lily Pardini made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lauren Wilson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Scarlett Fannin, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Petaluma hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Analy struck out 11 times.
