University is a perfect 10-0 against Platte Valley since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Broncos at 4:00 p.m. University is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

University gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Valley.

Will Korby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Max Davis was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Isaac Dellinger, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Platte Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Sterling on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 10-5 to the Tigers.

Nick Silvas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dagan Gomez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

University's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Platte Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

University took their win against Platte Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
