Basketball Game Preview: Denver North Vikings vs. Manual Thunderbolts

Denver North hasn't had much luck against Manual recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Denver North Vikings will be playing at home against the Manual Thunderbolts at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Sammy Barajas and Zubayr Carpenter.

Last Friday, Denver North lost to Thomas Jefferson at home by a 66-49 margin. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 16-8 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manual). They snuck past DSST: Conservatory Green with a 90-86 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Thunderbolts, who have now won four contests in a row.

Manual's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Denver North, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 12-8.

Denver North was taken down by Manual 86-51 in their previous matchup back in February of 2021. Thankfully for Denver North, Jordan Reed (who dropped a triple-double with 22 points, ten boards, and 11 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
