Santa Cruz Valley had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Arizona Lutheran Academy on Thursday. The Dust Devils were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Coyotes. The result was nothing new for the Dust Devils, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ceeana Banda was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emilee Brown, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Santa Cruz Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Santa Cruz Valley has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Santa Cruz Valley has already played their next contest, an 8-0 loss against Horizon Honors on the 28th. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-1 defeat against Tonopah Valley on the 25th.
