Softball Recap: Central Square Redhawks vs. East Syracuse-Minoa Spartans
Central Square proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 25) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the East Syracuse-Minoa Spartans. The game was the first time the Redhawks have beaten the Spartans on their field since May 3, 2019.

Caytlin Redeye spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abigail Fazzino, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Olivia Upham also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
The victory got Central Square back to even at 6-6. As for East Syracuse-Minoa, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Square will square off against Jamesville-DeWitt at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Syracuse-Minoa, they will take on Oneida at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
